persistence

This is a real, true to life, lesson that I want to convey to you… to my kids, to my family, to myself. There will be things in life that will attempt to take your soul away. Things that are so overpowering that you will feel like you have your head in the lions mouth. Things that will test the very fiber of your being. I want you to understand that….you are not alone in this feeling… you are not alone in this life.

You have choices to make and the hardest choice is what will lead you to redemption. Not just of the situation but redemption of your soul. It will torment you and drive you mad but you must persist. You must follow through but only if it is of value to you. It has to have purpose in your life. You and you alone are the only one who will know the answer to this question. You have to dig deep into your mind and soul and find the answer to this question you seek.

When you know it is pure and it is worth fighting for then you have the next step to take… persistence. This one quote is the quote that shall carry you:

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

— Theodore Roosevelt (also accredited to Ray Kroc — founder: McDonalds)

Persist. Through the pain. Through the struggle. Through the hardship. Be the person whom you think is just and pure and whose actions align with his words. Don’t talk, but rather do. DO the hard work that needs to be done. Do it every day. Do it with a fire in your eyes and a deep compassion in your soul. DO THE WORK! Leave no stone unturned in your search for greatness. Leave out no detail no matter how small. Let no one let you deviate from your path in life. Know your path and know your mission.

Every day is a second chance. Every single day you have to wake up with the notion that today is a do-over from yesterday. Yesterday I did things and maybe I didn’t do them to the best of my abilities. Maybe I overlooked something. Today I will find what I overlooked and I will conquer it completely. If not today then I will revisit this thing tomorrow. I will fight until my heart beats no more. I will fight until my fire is extinguished, and it will be extinguished. Because even if you fail, you will fail many many many times over, you fight the fight and battle the demons. You do it with love and compassion. You make the effort not out of self-interest but out of self-love. This is important because doing things from any place other than genuine love is not doing things at all.

You create the situation you would have rather than allowing the situation to dictate the outcome. You have to be strong, every day, and persist in the battle. Even after the battle is over you must continue to fight for the justice of it because once you stop fighting, you become complacent. You lose everything you just spent your whole life fighting for. You take one small break and you lose everything you worked so hard to maintain.

Whatever it is, be it school or love or business or family or just discovering yourself, do it with dignity and make your actions match your words. Use as little words as possible but make your actions immeasurable.

Find your light and fight with your life to keep it lit.

farewell.
